OBAMA the radical Muslim or OBAMA the anti-American Christian?

This is a short essay I wrote during the 2008 elections. It highlights huge inconsistencies in the republican strategy to attack and smear Senator Barack OBAMA....

A faction of the Republican Party has been doing its best to portray Senator Barack OBAMA as a Muslim. It seems they just cant mention him without overemphasizing his middle name Hussein or pointing to the fact that he lived in Indonesia in his youth. Indonesia is the country with the worlds largest Muslim population and these Republicans will have us believe Barack OBAMA attended a Madrasa there. By Madrasah they mean a Muslim school; but not just any Muslim school, a radical Islamist school. Let me set the record straight on that: The word Madrasa in Arabic literally means a place to study and it refers to institutions of learning be they secular or religious, private or public. In short the word Madrasa does not necessarily mean a Muslim school. Second, Senator Barack OBAMA never attended a Muslim school (not in Indonesia, not in Kenya, not in Hawaii). No where on Gods green earth did Barack OBAMA attend a Muslim school.

At the exact same time, people in the same party have been criticizing OBAMAs Christian values, particularly his ties to the controversial Reverend Jeremiah WRIGHT. As head of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Reverend WRIGHT was OBAMAs pastor and spiritual mentor for twenty years. And its true that during that time, some statements he made in his sermons can be qualified as highly controversial, sometimes racist and sometimes anti-American. Critics insist that if OBAMA was an active member in this church for so long, he must have shared some of the beliefs and views of Reverend WRIGHT. They are using this relationship, this link, this proximity to raise questions about the senator patriotism and judgment.

Across-the-board, radical republicans seem to agree on one thing: BARACK OBAMA hates America. Both these attacks seem convey that message. But the GOP however has no consensus on the faith, the religion in which OBAMA expresses his hatred for AMERICA.

Its time to call out the GOP and tell it that it cannot have its pie and throw it in someones face too. The Party needs to have a talk with itself, pick one smear strategy, one religion and stick to it. Is OBAMA a left wing Christian who hates America or is he a radical Islamist? Does he chant Death to America on Fridays at the Mosque or does he sing JESUS damn America on Sundays with Reverend Wright. Never mind the ridiculousness of these notions! For now Ill join the GOP in its absolute disregard for the truth. All that I ask is that they, at least, have a rational and consistent smear strategy.

Thanks Donald for the point. Muslims do not pray for the destruction of America but for the guidance of America to islam. Second islam is being used by the republicans to smear Obama When islam actually calls for peace on God's earth. If you look at any war..any...you will find the forces behind it is not islam bt the haters of islam who incite war. Lebanon invasion Sudan and afghanistan attacks by Clinton produced Alqaeda and so on. Muslims are not interested much in this life they want next

@StompingRabbits that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard.Being muslim isnt a gene in your dna.My mothers family is baptist.My aunt married a muslim.They had twins named Raheem and Rashid.Both baptized baptists and play in the church choir.My uncle and aunt divorced when the kids were young. No muslim gene was past from father to sons.cant believe I even had to respond to this.That was the most uneducated thing I have ever heard. Especially when you know Obama did not really know his father

Weather Obama is a Muslim or not, I will revote for him because he is doing what I would imagine any Muslim person should do. Also, he is teaching a lot of citizens about how to play the game of politics when it comes to expanding the deficit and stopping terrorism.

"He isn't a Muslim......?" Yea and the Brooklyn Bridge is for sale.... If Obama Senior was his father then little Barry was born Muslim as Islam passes from father to son! He attended Koranic studies by his own accord and he's constantly denigrating America and sucking up to Islam and he never misses an opportunity to do so! His middle name is supposedly Hussein and I say "supposedly" because he has no verifiable identity! Am I being "irrational?" Prove me wrong!
