Libertarian blogger KipEsquire inserts himself into The McLaughlin Group. July 27, 2007, episode: Clinton v. Obama, Gonzales going?, what is "victory in Iraq"?
Re Iraq, Whoa there -- you're myopically quibbling over whether the word "victory" or "defeat" can be used to describe Iraq. Buddy, if the US withdraws from Iraq, that place will quickly be divvy'd up between AlQaeda and Iran, who will each grab the spoils. This means that they'll have a new platform from which to launch attacks. NOTE: I still believe the US should withdraw from Iraq. But losing the place to USA's enemies is the price to pay for having stupidly invaded in the first place.
I have stated previously that we should not "just leave." We should, however, limit ourselves to securing Baghdad and protecting the Iraqi government, who should themselves worry about Iran, aQIM, etc.
Also, perhaps our "trusted allies" in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, etc., could chip in?
this is completely off the topic but american politics is confusing! im more curious about what is moving in the background by your left ear ?????
