ah, I always thought these BIG commercials were just like general NBA commercials that advertised the better teams just to promote the playoffs for people who normally don't watch professional basketball.

It's a promo of the team. They've made these promos for (I think), every playoff team last year. It's just something for the fans. They would care because of what OKC has overcome in the short time they've been in the city. There really is no explanation, it's a promo, simple as that.

That isn't the point. The point is that OKC started at the very bottom and has risen to the top very quickly.

The Thunder were just 23-59 the first season in OKC and we still packed the house for every game. In fact, the first half of that season, the Thunder were on pace for the worst record of all time.
