A record crowd of 138,000 people flocked to Adelaide's Rymill Park to welcome back to the peloton, seven time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong, in the Cancer Council Classic, a prelude to the 2009 Tour Down Under.
The 30 lap criterium, which covered a total distance of 51 kilometres, was won by Australian Robbie McEwen - his first win for his new team Katusha.

csc look good but O'grady is not a pure sprinter. Mcwem seems to be owning katusha.I predict McW for stage 2 and o'grady to beat grieple of highroad for the GC

No, your right, I was just kidding a bit ;)
Lol! By the way, I'm not a big Boonen fan, my name is Tom and everybody is calling me Tommeke. My favourite riders were/are: Boogerd, Gesink, Thomas Dekker, Cancellara, McEwen, Petacchi, Cunego, Ballan and Sastre.

Good to see McEwan back on track and Armstrong racing again.
