The port of Mombasa is testament to the potential of Kenyas national resources. Sadly, this very same port is, of itself, evidence that corruption isnt just a government problem, but one that Kenyans live with, benefit from, and suffer, everyday.

Cartels of Kenya revenue authority officers, businessmen and clearing agents collude on a daily basis to defraud this country of billions in tax revenue, their greed overshadowing those honest professionals in their line of work. Tonight the inside story begins its exposing of this web of deceit and corruption, with the Mombasa port caught at the centre of it. Here now is John-Allan Namu with the first of KTNS Three Part Series, Port Of Impunity.

  • The irony is that ktn also bribes to get access to these docs.... circle continues. keep up the good work

  • You write in the description that cartels and business men collude to defraud Kenyans of tax revenue. But honestly speaking, do our taxes benefit the public more than they benefit the MPs and Ministers? How many Kenyans go without food, shelter, health care and security due to budget cuts whilst parliament still enjoy their perks and huge paydays, and worse still the Cabinet at worst is forced to down grade to brand new Passats from their Brand New E-Classes? You got this story completely wrong

  • Can you stand by your argument please

  • No wonder corruption remains a fixed vice in this country.... am surprised that even after all what has transpired in our very own eyes through the only indepedent and authoritatitve news channel, we still can affort to have some few individuals standing out in defence of the so called Salihia crap (I dont even get the spelling) Come on gentlemen, you've been busted

  • I dont want to prempt what will be shown in part 3 but so far no corruption has been proven. Yes, they did say the spares were misdeclared as water but KTN conveniently omitted showing what happened after the container arrived at the said station and didnt show any KRA officers being bribed or compromised. I'm a clearing agent and trust me, that all story is about hearsay eg its nonsence ati weighbridge pple collect sh7m in bribes daily
