Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. For the first time since becoming the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton held court all on her own. It's in today's PopSugar Rush!
Kate Middleton dazzled as Duchess at her first official solo royal engagement. She made the rounds at Clarence House in London last night, thanking about 30 guests for their support of In Kind Direct, a charity founded by her father-in-law, Prince Charles.
Kate was actually acting as a stand-in for Prince Charles. He was supposed to be the one representing but had to pull out of the appearance to go to Riyadh and offer condolences to the Saudi royal family following the death of their crown prince.
With little time to prepare, Kate was able to pull it off. She looked regal in a floor-length, cut-out gown by Amanda Wakeley, which is one of the Duchess's go-to designers. And according to a palace aide, the event went "very well."
The royal family has really been helping Kate get acclimated to the royal lifestyle, and there have even been reports that she's been taking "princess lessons." During William and Kate's trip to Canada and California over the Summer, and even at recent events like their visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital, Kate has always had her husband by her side. But now, it seems she's ready to step out on her own.
Kate won't be alone next week when she and Prince William travel to Denmark. They plan on visiting a United Nations center that gives out emergency supplies to East Africa... Africa is close to the couple's heart as they got engaged in Kenya. And speaking of their nuptuals that followed, their 6-month wedding anniversary is Saturday!
There are many sweet moments William and Kate have shared since typing the knot. Take a look at our roundup of the cute couple's pictures on popsugar.com.
