1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea. Pavel Kuznetsov wins the gold medal in the 100KG class. Part 2 features the clean and jerk part of the competitions. The footage features all 3 attempts of Kuzhetsov (230KG, 235KG and 243KG, no lift on the world record) and behind the scenes help by Anatoly Khrapaty who won the 90KG class the night before and head coach of Team USSR, Alexey Medvedev.

Does anyone know the name of the Soviet massage therapist on the footage? He wears the yellow Eleiko t-shirt while assisting Kuznetsov. I do remember him working with Team USSR in the 1980s but fail to remember his name. Thanks.

Same situation as Vardanian's "almost" 230. Both lifts could have been made had they been taken as 2nd attempts. Doing a limit lift after energy depletion has occurred is asking for three reds.
