Thousands of bats grace the night sky to a backdrop demonstrating the lowering of our water table due to population growth here in the desert. The balloons started with groundwater being just 20 feet below the surface prior to the first surges of population, when the Rillito ran all the way to Alvernon. The balloons stretched higher and higher, with more recent measures showing water table hundreds of feet down. Performance and installation by Flam Chen, and poet extraordinaire Logan Phillips.
