L&N Steam Engine pulling into the New Haven, KY., railroad museum yard. Sorry about the shaking-it was windy as hell out there.

Who says 2716 has a cracked frame? Now 2716 has had issues, and some issues still with the firebox. The only reason Ft. Wyane did not presue putting more money into 2716 is because the FRA would not gran them a waiver to extend the Flue life on them. Thus 2716 was shipped back to KRM while Ft. Wyane wisely invested their money into 765.

  • @SP4449Warbaby with a cracked frame, 2716 will only be restored cosmeticly. She'll never run again.

  • Yeah, screw the 152! What about Southern 2716?

  • We might not have #2716, but we do have 152, the pride of the commonwealth, 2716 will be restored by KRM eventually, but let's enjoy the last L&N locomotive to be standing. I should know, because they both are in my state :)

  • It's sad seeing #2716 just sitting there, cold,lifeless.

  • what a beautiful, almost mournfully sweet sound

  • awesome crosby 3 cime whistle
