We really don't have a choice whether we want to defend ourselves or not.
Anyone who tells you that your freedom does not need to be personally defended and directly represented wants you to be a slave.
You don't really have a choice to decide whether conspiracy theories are true or not. You cannot make a conspiracy happen when the conspiracy was false, but you CAN break up a conspiracy if you believe it is true.
