Ferry Aid was a ensemble group, brought together to record the song "Let it Be" in 1987. The single was released following the Zeebrugge Disaster, which had occurred on 6 March 1987 involving the capsizing of the MS Herald of Free Enterprise ferry, which killed 193 passengers and crew. Although many stars were initially reluctant to join forces with the newspaper, eventually artists such as Boy George, Kate Bush and Mark Knopfler agreed to take part. Original writer, Paul McCartney also contributed to the song, although his performance (and section in the accompanying video) were recorded independently in his own studios.
Artists to have contributed and performed solo spots on the song are as follows (in order of appearance):
•Paul McCartney
•Boy George
•Sarah Dallin, Keren Woodward and Nick Kamen
•Paul King
•Mark King
•Taffy
•Andy Bell
•Pepsi and Shirlie
•Mel and Kim
•Jaki Graham
•Gary Moore (guitar solo)
•Mark Knopfler (guitar solo)
•Kim Wilde and Nik Kershaw
•Edwin Starr
•Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot
•Ruby Turner
•Kate Bush

  • Thanks for posting the song with the info.

  • mark king !!!

  • warum..immer so sch.. Qualis im Ton ?

  • Gary Moore has no problem..believe me...maybe you have..;-)

  • Typical Mr. Moore he won't get a sense of a Song even if it bites him, the only good thing is that he don't sing on this outstanding Song. That's his problem he has only one Sound and this don't belongs to Blues and not to such Sound, he was a good Rockguitarplayer, maybe sometimes he will get it, Sorry Mr. Moore, sit down, six.

  • This would be so much better if it did not have that irritatingly cheesy 80s' vibe to it;christ it was 87' you would think it would of run it's course by then! Anyway sorry for being so negative because overall it is quite enjoyable. Thanks for Posting.
