Achievement Hunter Secret Santa continues today with this "gift" from Michael to Fragger. It's the obnoxiously difficult "You can be my wingman anytime" Achievement in Battlefield 3.

  • Michael insurance win

  • @sora120ishepic Are you referencing what I think you're referencing? O_O

  • I used the machine guns and nothing else and didn't get the achievment! I'm so pissed off!

  • @soopamariogalaxeee Really, there are practical applications for it. There's almost no negatives to doing it, aside from a slight increase in weight. I'm not going to type much more than this for now, because I'm very tired and it's very late.

  • Shoulda made Michael do the Mile High Club achievement from CoD4

  • @karinosai I can understand that people would do it just for kicks, but as a practical weapon in a time of conflict, a combination of that sort wouldn't be seen in a realistic setting.

  • @soopamariogalaxeee Join the military, you'd be surprised what some of my old buddies would do and what our COs allowed us to do just because we paid for it ourselves and it didn't come out of our budget. I remember one guy I met in the Marines paid for 1 in 3 green tracers on his 249, because he didn't like 1 in 5 red. Plus, 6 times zoom isn't that high power of a scope. Ordinarily, you'd think that was a bad idea because any enemies could find him easier because of it, but whatever. He paid.

  • Top gun ftw

  • @karinosai oh wow, that's really interesting! my dad also does international business, he's currently in Germany.

Anyway, likelihood is what's really important here because the game's claim on realism. The likelihood of an individual using a repair tool to disable a tank is just as low as an individual putting a large scope on a shotgun. People wouldn't really do it, since automatic rifles and other conventional weapons are effective all around. If it's a special forces team, they MIGHT do that.

  • @soopamariogalaxeee I work for a local plastics company that does international business, and I had to fly out to Sarnia (Canada) to visit "potential clients." Nice people, really. The military still uses shotguns for various reasons, many of which being that they're still highly effective at ranges up to 100 yards, and more effective than automatic rifles at ranges less than 25 meters, and a hell of a lot more effective at breaching doors. And again, we were never talking about likelihood.
