My Dad was a Coldstream Guards and used to enthrall us kids with a broom as his rifle and go through the ceremony for us , we loved it .I have known the words all my life .

@Rleadhol really? no member of the public is ever allowed to view or attend the actual Ceremony Of The Keys. they do practices and mock-ups for tourists and private tours but never the true Ceremony. it is not allowed unless permission is given in writing by Her Majesty The Queen.

I had the opportunity to go for a private tour last night and attend the Ceremony... it was fantastic! As an American, this was an extremely unique opportunity, and as the Yeoman Warder in the pub afterward told me..." Just think, if you lot had just paid your taxes, all of this history could be yours as well!"

My son was impressed when he saw the Ceremony of the Keys. He was also impressed when the guards were changed within the Tower of London. The soldier escorting the visitors during the ceremony was nice.

You're correct the ceremony of the keys can not be recorded.
Many years ago, I was the drummer on duty when they were making a video to sell in the gift shop, when it came to recording the Ceremony of the Keys, it was done at 20:00hrs so it was not the 'Actual' ceremony.

For your information;
The Royal Australian Regiment did the Guard at the Tower some years ago, so they obviously did the ceremony.
-
I didn't think the ceremony could be video taped?

These locks don't look very secure.
Tradition and ceremony. Truely the napkin of society.
