@chris101325693 In some parts of the Orthodox world, particularly in Greece, they'll bang on pots and pans.
On Mt. Athos, the monks will bang their seats against their stalls to make the sound.

Because it is as a symble of jesus Christ who is in the Hell and breaking down the locks- and it has to imitate the sound of it.
