Part 9 of 12.

From Book TV:

About the Program
From the City University of New York, authors George Galloway and Christopher Hitchens debate the war in Iraq. George Galloway, opposed to the Iraq War, is a member of the British Parliment and the author of "Mr. Galloway Goes to Washington: The Brit Who Set Congress Straight About Iraq." The book tells the story of his recent appearance before the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, where he verbally attacked U.S. Senators while responding to charges related to Iraq's oil-for-food program. Christopher Hitchens, in favor of the Iraq War, is the author of "Love, Poverty, and War: Journeys and Essays" and "Blood, Class and Empire: The Enduring Anglo-American Relationship." "Democracy Now!" radio host Amy Goodman moderates. She is the author of "The Exception to the Rulers: Exposing Oily Politicians, War Profiteers, and the Media That Love Them."

About the Author
George Galloway is the Respect Party's Member of Parliament for Bethnal Green and Bow in London. He won the seat after his expulsion from the Labour Party for his opposition to the Iraq War. Christopher Hitchens is a contributing editor to Vanity Fair and a visiting professor of liberal studies at the New School in New York.

  • Galloway seems to think a debate is a shouting contest. i almost cringe when i hear him instead of approaching a question, in the case of countless young reporters, bully them, insult them on a personal level. HOW can anyone take this fool seriously is beyond me.

  • Galloway is a skilled propagandist, but keeping him on point is an excercise in frustration. He uses the far left tactics of smearing your opponent and avoiding the factual debate.

Hitchens, by virtue of siting facts, wipes the floor with this guy.

  • Hitchens: I changed my views based on the facts.

    Galloway: SO YOU LIED!!!

  • WE ALL FREEDOM FIGHTERS LOVE YOU GALLOWAY GO ahead God is with you

  • hitchens used to be great, he started losing his mind

  • 02:15 Looks like Galloway is thinking "oh shit, I guess meaningless rhetoric won't win me this debate after all."

  • @klrdotorg Thanks: i will send you a video where GG makes a fool of himself so ridiculously that some comments are from people who stop admiring him! LOL

Yes, she`s amazing. So much that the only accusations muzies make against her are childish like saying she`s paid to say attacks against pisslam (LOL).

  • @skepticaldemocrat

Agreed. I looked at your channel and favorited one of your videos ... the one with Wafa Sultan -- she's amazing. Peace. :)

  • @klrdotorg Whats the feeling that the truths, facts and intelligent comments you described are being explained like if it werent obvious to any rational person?

But how can a rational person hear GG and applaud him?

Meaning: rational thinking is impossible in bigots, a term which includes leftist loonies who divide the world in evil zionist west and everyone else pure, saint or poor little guys forced to kill, rape and torture against their will...

  • @Ryukikon

    Three things:

Did you watch the entire debate?

What did you learn from GG?

Do you agree with GG that the insurgents were "freedom fighters"? The guys who were executing police and police recruits, blowing up Mosques, blowing up more citizens than U.S./U.K. soldiers, death squads killing the Sunni minority, blowing up and assassinating U.N. personnel. GG stood in Syria and applauded them.

  • @klrdotorg

Well in all honesty, alot of people would glean alot of information from GG. I got about the same level of information from both. Hitch was more confounding than GG in that he just doesn't do straight talk. GG can in perspective sound like a PC rally but on facts I would have to go to GG in this debate. I do not think Hitch should have attacked him in the begining because he lost alot of ground on that. Also if he kept on his appeals to emotion he would've won the masses atleast.

  • @Ryukikon

OK ... let's try this. Hitchens is debating. He is citing facts. (not sitting on them - I had a typo in my post) I learned something when Hitchens spoke.

Is Galloway debating? Or is he speaking at a pollitical rally? Did you learn anything when Galloway spoke? I heard cheap political slogans, repeated ad nauseum. How many times did he say "Haliburton" "Cheney" "Neocons"? Did you learn anything listening to GG? I didn't.

I maintain that Hitch wiped the floor with him.
