Guy Babylon has died of a heart attack while swimming in the pool. He was only 52.
Guy began writing orchestral arrangements for Elton's material with the song Man, from the album Made In England, and subsequently arranged all but one of the songs on Peachtree Road.
Guy played over 1000 shows with Elton John and worked together on The Road To El Dorado, Aida, Billy Elliot, Lestat and Gnomeo and Juliet, as well as on countless albums.

I remember Guy playing with the Banana
Submarines for us underclassman. We rode the same school bus. He was quiet & polite. He pitched for our baseball team. His school Track & Field records lasted for years. He left us to young. Our thoughts go out to his family in New Windsor & LA.

Here's my Guy Babylon story...I believe the years '95...went to see Elton and Band at MSG...Stayed at the same hotel as the band...after the show we head back to the hotel...I run into Guy Babylon in the lobby...he heads out of the hotel...ten minutes later Guy comes back with a Subway Sandwich, heads up to his room..alone..didn't order room service..instead he wanted a Subway
Sandwich, the guy who made his sandwich had no idea that an hour before his customer was playing to 20,000 fans.

It is hard to believe Guy is gone... The Elton John band will NOT be the same without him...
