Therefore, it's good for us to be aware of all this in advance, so we can go on being, nice and kind, and take no notice of people around trying to convince us that it's weakness. Allah reward people being patient.

that is SO true, i was talking to my friend about that recently. it is a such a shame that we live in a time when being a good Muslim (kind, nice, shy, etc) has become a weakness. May Allah help us all.

I can relate. I submitted 2 resumes to several places. One I changed my name to an anglicized one. I got 3 calls and 2 emails w/in 48 hours for the changed name. When I showed up for the interview they were still interested. Then I informed them that my name is an alias. A name I can use legally according to my atty. "ahh said the interviewer. Ok, yeah, thats clever. I understand." So, I left and felt confident I had the job. I never heard from them. And many more similar exp. like this.
peace.

its true what he said, nowadays if your too kind and gentle people think your dumb/stupid and if your harsh / selfish your clever!!

I wish I could agree with you that opression is not literal anymore. As a sister who wears hijab I can rarely get a job interview. When prior to converting I got every job I ever applied for. Sisters are denyed the right to defend themselves in court unless they remove hijab and the court marshalls go on the news proud. Opression is totaly literal where I live.
dont get scared yet because the worst has not yet come! believe me you will see things that will make you die of fear!
