  • is that batter sea power station burning in the background?

  • @LJJ23ARSRUL The train I filmed from had just passed the power station so it was something to the East of there. It certainly was a huge fire whatever it was but I did not find out what it was. The week before there was another huge fire in the area which did make the news

  • true fact, there are speed cameras on the railways, seriously i've seen them near clapham junction

  • I have never seen a speed camera but the hand held speed guns were often used in this area and yes drivers do get a speeding ticket if they go over the limit. These days it is not easy to run over the speed limit into a station or up to a junction The brakes are automaticly applied if a train takes less time than it should to travel a measured distance appoaching a red signal

  • LOL, both trains are fitted with OTMR (On train monitor and recording) both drivers WILL be driving within 1 mph of the permanent line speed for fear of getting their turns downloaded / investigated. Do you realy think they "race" LOL?

  • No Just a fun title Both trains would indeed be running at line speed It was when I filmed at Brixton I saw the EMU pass overhead a couple of times and set out to see if I could get a ride beside Eurostar It took around 7 attempts because the train from Victoria had to be right on time and Eurostar a little late for it to work out Eurostar would be the one inclined to speed because of that but of course the drivers are well aware of their limit unlike many road users who love to flout the rules

  • The Eurostar has lots of power yes On the 3rd rail it could still pick up speed quickly even though there is a lot less power than in the overhead wire

  • the Eurostar just had more power than the 465,

  • @AdmiralArcher Unles the Southeastern train is taken the Dartford line at Nunhead, the two trains will both meet up again at Shortlands

  • Although taking different routes both trains were heading to the same line further on No doubt about it the Eurostar class 373 would be there much sooner than the class 465 surburban train I was on Eurostar were given the shorter faster route
