in some points I agree with Webdivababe but what must be understood is that it is a cultural and historical thing. Look at the ideogram of peace, it the woman at home. I think it is just how it was built in the past and there is no problem in explaining the meaning.

Daughters are not "a waste". Without daughters, civilization cannot continue. No women = no future. You really need to elevate your thinking. It's ridiculously outdated and flawed.
