A cartoon explanation of why we need a public health insurance option.

Now that the health care bill has passed, my friend Andy Lubershane (the animator) has made another video about a topic near and dear to my heart: Climate and Energy. Please check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf7IO3...

Animated by Andy Lubershane. More comics at http://www.earthlycomics.blogspot.com

Note: The data in this cartoon is supported by this report: http://www.ourfuture.org/healthcare/h..., which includes a lot more detail on current proposals for a public option.

Being born was a metaphore, you exist and you are part of a society. Even if you live in a hole and you don't use any kind of service you owe to the society something the society uses to make life better for everyone (in theory , corruption is another subject) , the point is : collaboration helps more than personal greed. Example : you pay your taxes and with these someone is saved from death , then he goes back to work and starts to create wealth & pay his taxes (paying even more of his health)

silly socialist, think that "rasing money" is the way to help everyone, you didn't actually affect the supply and demand ratio, thats like "well if I have enough money, everyone can have front row seats to a lady gaga concert", its false, stop trying to raise money and get in the game and do something!

Being born is no use of service, please.

And if that is the case, why can't I pay when and if I use the services?

I garantee you, as a brazillian, I pay for public health, education and security, and I have none of them. I end up having to pay again for these private services to expect any form of reply.

Immoral to me is threatening someone to give you money. Why is that not the case when the government does it?

I thought that not paying taxes is immoral and wrong. Why don't you think so?

    - My 401K invests in Insurance companies, I'm not rich.

    - Government has very expensive paper pushers, they usually do worse on overhead costs even without making evil profit.

    - Innovation and cutting costs would also be not on a government run health care systems agenda.

    - Anybody think that this was a bit condescending?
