You are your constant companion. You are the only one who lives in your inner terrain. We tend to revisit old emotional pain, emotional road-kill. When emotional pain is triggered it feels as if it is fresh, it hurts anew. Just like in your physical body, in your emotional body what you exercise gets stronger & bigger. YOUR EMOTIONS ARE EXERCISED BY THE ATTENTION YOU GIVE THEM. Just because we dont exercise our gratitude muscle, doesnt mean we dont have one. The more I accept myself, the more accepting I am of others. The more compassion & understanding I have for myself, the more I am compassionate & understanding with others. Pay attention to your emotional states. They, each & all, distil into a choice between love & fear. In any moment, am I an instrument of Love, or am I an instrument of fear? We choose in every moment. Just because were not conscious of that choice, doesnt mean its not chosen. The difference between effort and struggle. It all takes effort. We dont have to struggle. Mongo only pawn in game of Life.
