Edward Said was a man of class and prestige. He used rational and sensible reasoning as opposed to being dictated by mere emotion...that is rare today.

@BerlinerOmar In his books, he focussed mainly on European Orientalism; only a few chapters were concerned with American orientalist representations. Orientalism reached its apogee during the colonial period from 1600-1945; then the process of decolonization changed the landscape, sometimes for the better, not always.
