Great album, very reflective and healing, the sound of a band and it';s members each coming out of a very dark and uncertain time...a real treasure to be sure.

Bruce Johnston is awesome!

@juslookin3 Bruce Johnston, not Al :)
-
one of those songs after the pet sounds/smile era that is worth listening 2. :)

Frank Marocco, Frank Messina, or Carl Fortina on accordion I assume.

long time a BB fan, from Pet Sounds, Smiley Smile, Friends to 20/20. Just discovered this gem today. Shame on me.

This song blows my mind every time I listen to it. This is such a beautiful song! I love every nuance: Carl's tasteful guitar, Brian's French, Venetian b/g vocals, not to mention Bruce's singing. M.b. his best vocal performance. I think Bruce's voice perfectly fits mood of the song. Dunno who - Al or Brian - is smart enough to choose Johnston (rather than somebody) as the lead singer for At My Window. IMO the best song on Sunflower & one of my favorites by The Beach Boys!

Bruce's best vocal. He sounds more natural on this, his singing always sounded a bit forced on his own compositions.
The 5-part Harmony at 0:46 has to be one of THE most exquisite sounds ever put to tape. "He came to my window"................ Brian actually cites this Masterpiece as one of his Favorite BB tunes. As well it should be.
