Moobs is onscreen for three minutes total and manages to be one of the most obnoxious Bond bad guys ever. I wish Bond could have beat the crap out of him some more.

Interesting how Dalton fights in this. He's not the usual smug, invincible Bond most people know, he really looks like he is deparately fighting for his life.

Um, during the 70's and 80's the west was funding groups like the Taliban because the Taliban were fighting the soviets. It was part of the cold war against the Russians.

@wastedwasted3 - This being 1987, Kamran Shah(the guy in question) was a good guy in that he was an Afghan "freedom fighter" working to free Afghanistan from the Soviet Union which was seen as the greater evil at the time. It's doubtful his particular group was Taliban per se, but it's an interesting question.
