The guitar is indeed a '71 Martin D-28. I asked Michael at one of his shows in Milwaukee. I remembered because I have a '72 Martin D-28.

I saw Michael Hedges at the Ryman Auditorium. I was unfamiliar with his work, unprepared for the beauty of his music, and blown away by the jaw dropping talent he had in spades. I had never heard anyone play like that, nor could I have even conceived such talent existed. Hedges was one of a kind, so full of life, a true genius. He had God given gifts we mortals don't share. I miss him big time. Peace.
