It's still really hit-or-miss when it comes to taking Hoshi for walks off our property. Some days she does OK and I'm seeing a gradual trend toward improvement, but there is still plenty that she finds scary.
Not being able to go for long walks makes it really hard to make sure she gets enough exercise and stimulation to be a happy dog. So we do a LOT of active play games inside the house or in our backyard to make up for this.
Here is an example of the kind of active games we play to give her (and me) some exercise. The advantage of structured games like this is not only exercise -- she gets to practice impulse control and paying attention to me (rather than the distractions of the environment).
I got the idea for these games from a fantastic instructional video by kikopup (it's called "Tree agility" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4OCHZpP9Co ).
Awesome job to both of you! Coincidentally, this looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! ^_^

Very impressive Lori, you are a wonderful trainer and companion Hoshi is very lucky. I was wondering do any of these techniques work on Arjen? :-)
