we all want a welfare state - trouble is the a lot of people in this country just want to milk it and live off the hard work of others. The basic failure of socialists is that they just cannot see this. Socailism breeds idlessness and eventually collapses as it has done in Eastern Europe and everywhere else.

hardly university challenge calling someone a cockhead in the first place really is it mate?
Why not just debate politely instead of throwing insults around, there's enough of that on youtube as it is, would be nice to see a rational debate for once.

But they didn't really fail. Greed failed, capitalism failed. Capitalism will always seek short term solutions and short term profit, failing at the longterm prospect because non of capitalisms prime advocates care about anyone than themselves and their closest friends. Thus what happens in 100 or 200 years is not in their interest.

Socialism is for people who fail at life? What about the NHS? Is that for people who fail at life? None of us choose the situation we are born into. Without the wellfare state many more people would perish under Capitalism in the UK.
