  • Our Ragdolls, Merlin and Maggie are brother/sister but very different. She is seal mitted; he is blue mitted. She loves cuddling but hates to be held at all, much less on her back. He will let you hold him on his back, drape him over your shoulder and loves to give kisses. Cats roll over on their back all the time. It is a natural position. Only rule is when they are done and want to leave, let them go.

  • Most Ragdoll's don't mind this at all. If they did you couldn't do this with them and they wouldn't accept it. Mine loves it. He loves to be tummy rubbed. They are wonderful cats if you have time and devotion to them. They are long haired and require care and can have other health issues (heart, etc.) They can live long lives and require commitment but are so worth it.

  • @LoveJared1 Calm down. Don't compare animals to human beings. Human beings have a different way of responding to circumstances than humans do. And have you never held a baby? How do you hold yours (if you have any)? You hold it belly down? Come on!! No human baby likes to be held belly down. They are all held with their backs on your arms. The same applies to kitties. Backs are designed for holding body weight. What are you ranting about accountable actions and stuff... jeez!

  • yeah i have a ragdoll her name is sapphire and when i hold her she does exactly that.... :)

and they are quite rare breeds.

  • My cat loves being held like that

  • I can hold my cat like that, she's a DSH tiger stripe. I started holding her like that as a kitten, so she's used it.

  • well all of my cats are from the streets or friends and they had no particular breed but all of them liked being held like that. also are the majority of ragdoll cats colored like that? cause all of the ones i've seen are. maybe just a popular color?

  • BOCA JUNIORS

  • I have a Snowshoe/Ragdoll mix I can hold in any direction and they don't mind being held in a relaxed state and my cat loves to lay on her back 90 % of the time. I call it "sunning" herself! ;-)

I put up a video response
