Vegetarier -- warum? Becoming a vegetarian -- why?

An explanation why one should decide to be a vegetarien, probably already Albert Schweizer has brought to the point at the best: "As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlegrounds "

Therein are essential wise sayings that are hidden in that sentence:
Where our mental attitude is considerably influenced by our acts and converse.

Thus there is nevertheless only one world like ours. In our whole galaxy and millions of stars and light-years far, there is no second, which is populated with liveforms at all. Therefore life is particularly precious.

Fact is that all living beings descend from one origin form, which means that if we take it completely accurate, we do kind of eat-up ourselfs whereas we treat our environment they way we currnetly do.

As " the crown of the creation" we do have a special obligation for caring for our fellow creatures and our own descendants, additionally also for our environment.

Nonetheless we are not capable to manufacture life -- yet are able to make liveless matter alive.
The other way round -- however -- very easily.

So why become a vegetarian?
Is it wrong to do to something what everybody does and always did?
Is it also correct to kill someone at war?
Do we have war with our fellow creatures?
Albert Schweizer: Slaughterhouses = battlegrounds?

To eat animals is on closer reflection terrible, all the more, how they must live, because we want to eat them.

Basically everyone knows, but supresses it. Within the last quarter of the year 2011, 15.2 million pigs were slaughtered - only in Germany. An inconceivable quantity. Envision what that means and how it feels like. Apart from the fact that this is just a number of "pigs", there are still uncounted numbers of cows, chickens, geese....

As a "sopisticated civilized lifeform", we do not like to think, nor even talk about it. We do what our parents learned us, take this for granted without casting in doubt. We sit at the table having dinner. - the only time when we come together.
We sit together at the table and speak about peace and moral principles, cherish our discussion culture at the same time with roasted animal bits in our mouths. And just while written herewith in black and white -- it feels increasingly shameful.
But we can decide to live better. That is the good message.

You shall not kill. An essential principle. That is what Albert Schweizer probably meant.
As long as we do not understand this, also our mental attitude is affected by what we eat and reverse.
Above this we do take away the base of life for ourselves -- and therewith the base of life for our own species. Only if we recognize and start to make a chance, everyone for himself, little by little will initiate big changes. And maybe this will give true peace, also with our fellow creatures.

To be a vegetarian is heathier in each regard, plus an essential an attitude of mind.
