I am Haitian, I Speak both French and Creole, I live in Germany 17 years now, I also speak German, keep in mind that I could count the number of Haitians in Germany on my finger. My daughter who is 2, speaks and understands German, French and creole. Now why do i speak to her in French and creole, because this is who she, she is part Haitian so the answer about these are Haitians in Florida makes no sense, the parents are to blame for not teaching them who they are.

she sounds truly uneducated and very impressed without using her profesional style.

It is that same culture that Haitians overseas are so interested in that makes them have Latinas in their music videos, light skin people from other countries dancing around, renting Lamborghinis to portray what? Haiti? All of those things have created a stigma that makes our young girls want to change their natural colors. I grew up in Haiti and I have seen the impact of the rented stuffs from the Haitian music videos compared to the Jamaicans, Trinidadians, and others. Much respect

@HaitiXchange I would say the same when watching Univision, here in California where all Hispanics speak ENGLISH and forget WHERE they are from. It is all about an identity that is lost. When I go to Florida, I have met many Haitians who answer 'I am FINE and you' to a common 'Sak Pase?'. This is what we come down to as Haitians, pretending...We are so good at it sometimes we FORGET that only Haitians put other 'better looking' girls in their music videos. I have seen them all. Only US. FACT...

@ahclovis and @sachapd This interview was done in Florida where Haitians speak English. HaitiXchange's main audience is Haitians and none-Haitians in the United States, many of whom speak English as their only language. However, they are still very interested the culture back home and do not want to be left out. So contrary to what you guys believe, these types of interviews actually help people learn about and hold on to the culture, as opposed to encouraging them to lose it.

You are talking real good ! I am tired of those people making us believe that WE SHOULD PORTRAY ourselves as we speak English back home. Michael Guirand did his interview mostly in creole when the girl was trying to stay into English but it sounded like he didnt care. Frankly, in my opinion, I DONT THINK THOSE INTERVIEWS ARE NOT FOR HAITIANS.... We lost who we ARE a long time ago, I hope we still have time to catch it back....
