That they are still in good numbers, well maintained or restored for the most part, and parts readily available, the cars are/can be very reliable, every day transportation. Very devoted enthusiatists work with each other to know each system of the car, and defeat it's main enemy, rust. Many, including my DSpecial, have over 200K miles and run as new..

that's excellent news. I am thinking of buying on here in Australia. There are a couple to choose from, no rust at all, not a bit.

So my main concern is reliability. I don't want to be left stranded

there's a Yahoo group... Aussiefrogs... google them.. and join the group... its free...great group of guys... and tons of info for Aussies with Citroens... they are very organized and a great group, good tips, what to watch out for, etc..

what was the name of the french movie, a first rate production with a good plot etc , and where the henpecked and cornudo husband was actually in love with and seeking consolation from his Citroen DS car ?? No sick movie that , at all, in fact delicious viewing and very well done.

another magnificent YT video on the DS is where the owner, who isn´t very good looking drives his waxed and polished , black DS Pallas thru this narrow street in Paris. not reliable ? you´ve got to be kidding , these cars were very , very , very well engineered and built.

Many clocked a million miles with a couple rebuilds and still keep going....

they had ver few flaws if any. Easily the car of the centuryjust like the T.Ford but in a different way.

Aussiefrogs is not actually a Yahoo group, but an independently run internet forum for fans of all French cars. I have had it said that AF is probably the best English language based French car forum in the world as it deals with ALL ages of French cars. There are members from all around the world - not bad for a forum that someone started over 10 years ago. Cheers UFO (on AF)

How come the white DS21 is not American spec yet it is registered in California? The US versions had to meet different requirements to their European counterparts. I'm a British expat here in the States and grew up with Citroens. I was a member of the Citroen Car Club in the UK. I miss seeing them so much - I haven't seen a single Citroen in the States in 5 years! The D is the greatest car of all time. If I could get one I would trade my 2010 Dodge Challenger in a heartbeat.
