The official name is silencer. Alot of people think that that was made up by someone, but the first silencer was named "silencer"

"Silencer" was Hiram Maxim's trade name for the suppressor he invented. He actually had several patents. The word tends to be used interchangeably with suppressor and moderator.

they use diffrent take down pins cause people were putin full auto lower with the uppers

That's weird. In the US it is perfectly legal to change uppers on a registered machine gun receiver. Of course you need the right bolt carrier in the upper.
