A Knox County jail inmate is beaten while strapped into a restraint chair. Tom Cox of the Knox County Sheriff's office explains the case. the man in the chair is named jerry capps; he was a 45 year old homeless man who, has brain damage from a stroke he suffered years earlier. Mr capps also suffers from schizophrenia, and was off his medication, when he began waving his arms & yelling at a passing police car; mr capps was arrested and brought to knox county jail.

@2thinkmaster : while in the jail, mr capps began shouting and had a seizure. he was then placed in the restraint chair. while in the restraint chair with his hands and feet bound: mr capps began shouting & spit at the deputies.

Deputy randy glenn punched mr capps 4 times in the face, and put a spit hood on him.

IF mr capps had come from a wealthy family he would have been taken to a psychiatric hospital and given his medication.

Fucking cop says spit now, so he spits. He only follows orders of the cop. I don't care what the guy did, no one deserves to be beaten on while being restrained. Go to hell copper. And you wonder why so many people are becoming wise to the bullshit cops pull every day.

@2thinkmaster I consider it to be a much worse abuse of this man to send him to a psych unit to be drugged than to have to go through this. And I know, I've been to those places and I've studied the scientific literature and I know that psychiatry is all about domination and control, not healing or helping. Their drugs do IN FACT cause irreversible brain damage, and are NOT chemical balancers. For anybody to be forced to take these drugs is a human rights violation. So fuck you all, assholes.

@2thinkmaster You mean the "medication" that causes irreversible brain damage, worsens psychotic symptoms and causes all sorts of tortuous anxieties and movement disorders? You dangerous sheeple need to read Robert Whitakers Anatomy of An Epidemic, and Google "Grace E Jackson antipsychotic brain damage" for all the scientific evidence you need to either finally agree that these drugs are chemical lobotomies or ironically be psychotic (out of touch with reality) yourselves.

@movetojustice its the same all over tn,police in tn do as they please and always have. Robertson county is at the top of the list in police abuse and violent sadistic cops are here .one detective at the sheriffs office strapped a disabled man in a chair and beat him with his belt plus no food or water for 3 days.the detective took the guy to the KY line threw him out and told him to never come back to Robertson county.that whole family of cops have held this county in there control for years.

I have been in this jail as well. I am a good ole boy, and I'm not an officer. I was treated well in the Sheriffs Department, with respect. I wish I would have went straight there instead of the hospital. I was treated like dung in the hospital...it was not until the Sheriff's Department and the medical staff they have were able to tend to me that I was starting to do better. They are a good bunch, and anyone who says else is probably in there again, now.

I have been in this jail before... Unfortunately i Live in Knox County TN and the whole dept has a " good ole boy " mentality and approach to things, They are all mean and really get a kick out of depriving people of basic fundamental human rights. The Knox County Sheriffs office shows no mercy. My best advise to anyone is never travel to east Tennessee. All of these counties are similar to this. Knox county wants to act like a BIG city , yet operate like a backwoods redneck society..

The police are too fucking stupid to put a spit cap on him sooner knowing full well from experience that anyone who is restrained has only spitting as an option once they are restrained...Dumb goddam mindless police. This shit happens all the time and they get away with it all the time. Police are incompetent and the law protects these Bully Neanderthals. This individual was restrained, why wasn't that Fat basterd police charged with assault??? that's exactly what that was.....ASSAULT!!!
