Burnside at 19th, and 18th at Burnside, 1939. Video that accompanies the post: "The Wizard of Oz Moment" on Cafe Unknown http://cafeunkown.blogspot.com / Portland History on line.
The hustle and bustle with the trolly cars which went all over Portland! I really cannot stand/hate the Hipsters that have taken over the city and that are lowering our standard of living. Looking like a 1850's lumberjack with a full beard and skinny jeans! Don't forget the Paps Blue Ribbon! Arrrrrgh!!!
I know that intersection. :D Its too bad all the rails are gone now. Or at least paved over. I've noticed a couple places on NW 23rd somewhere between Everett and Hoyt, where old street car rails are wearing through the pavement as car tires push the blacktop down around them.
@BennyB5555 Better than being flooded with blacks and hispanics though isn't it?
