In this video I'm running a modded Cobalt SS Turbo, not sure what it had but it was pretty quick. I'm running a 357, stock Vortec heads, XE274 cam, Edelbrock Vortec performer RPM intake, Holley 600cfm carb, Hedman LT's, 4th gen rear w/ 3.23's, and a T-56 swap. My car ran a 13.8 @ 103 mph this run i believe, had another shit 2.24 60' but that's because of the dead posi unit, the 3.23 gears that make me bog off the line if I hook, bald street tires and a bad tune. She has a lot more in her when I get those items fixed and I can actually get off the line quickly without bogging or spinning like crazy. Cobalt was a low 13 sec car I believe, I lost the timeslip... Also if you watch my small burnout (to clean the tires off) you can see the driver side tire does not spin. (proof of the dead posi)

  • What kind of HP do you get with that setup? I'm thinking about building up a 3rd gen and am bouncing around power train ideas.

  • @Kcducttaper1 I have a gen 1 sbc bored.040 over with stock rebuilt Vortec heads, xe274 Cam, forged connecting rods, balanced bottom end, Keith black pistons, Edelbrock performer RPM intake, Holley 600cfm w/ vac secondaries (little small I know) i need like a 650cfm carb. T-56 6-Speed transmission from a 95' Z28 and a POSI/disc rear from the same car. No idea on the hp but it's a lot of fun to drive! Next will be an LT1 swap utilizing a rear mount turbo. I also have a C4 getting an LT1/T-56.

  • also i cant really drive it, my first stick shift

  • @grandamGT1 I hear ya there, my Camaro is my first stick car too. I've been getting better with launching, the problem is I have to launch very soft or I'll get a one wheel peel. Those Auburn posi units....what a joke....

  • @v10viper04 yeah same here, its even worse the track im my area isnt even preped one bit....im not sureabout the posi, i donno nothin about rear wheel haha

  • @grandamGT1 O that sucks, I think here it's prepped a little bit, but not much. Yea my Camaro uses an Auburn Posi unit and they wear out. Which blows.. lol

  • @v10viper04 Thanks man. I'm thinking about just dropping in one of the vortec engines (5.3, 5.7 or maybe 6.0) with the fuel shutoff thing for highway MPG stuff. I might drop a cam in it and do some minor intake/exhaust things, but I'm looking to get somewhere around 350-450HP out of it when it's all done.

  • @v10viper04 always track prep is a major thing....thos camaros are a one wheel peel stock?i dint no that

  • yeah and a few more goodies wit sticky rubber

  • @grandamGT1 That's not bad for only a tune. Your running low 14's like that? Nice car ya got there, Cobalt SS's are fun to play around with, a black turboed one around here likes to run me. It's a good time, my g/f LOVES Cobalt SS's. She wants one in the worst way, haha I do like the look personally. I would have given a better run but my Camaro has a dead posi so one wheel peels don't help haha.
