  • The prequel did an amazing job i´m not a studioplant lol just to get that out of the way just a fan. And Frank Darabonts sequel idea is no good there are to many variables to take in mind to make the thing work in such an enviroment. Sadly I might add. If you really think about it what about birds, snakes, insects, rats, fish thousands of lifeforms that can not survive in the Antartic which is why the location for the prequel and the classic are solid. :)

  • @TheThingPrequel But Antartica has been done (twice no less) and in Carpenter's film it has been done to perfection. Why simply repeat that? I do not deny that there are hundreds of lifeforms to consider in a change of environment but I'd rather a film set itself a challenge rather than simply rehash what has come before. I want something new both from the environment and the characters, not a poorly made cliff notes version of a better film.

  • @PopcornNightmares well it is a prequel and it is supposed to match the Carpenter movie and fill in the blanks and it does manage to do that. Dont know if you have seen the movie yet but it is really impressive how much dedication and love and caring it was made with. You really couldnt have made the prequel any other way. The location was a must. As for a third entry if made in the future I def agree with you a location change would be good I just don´t know how..desert?...submarine?

  • @TheThingPrequel In my opinion Carpenter's film had already provided all the answers I needed and new ground was unfortunately left largely unexplored. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there was no good reason to make a prequel especially not one with similar characters, in the same place, with the same creature around the same time. I guess I just wanted a film that actually took risks, whether they paid off or not.
