Seven Days of Broadway (Summer 1989) - Music Man - Barbershop Quartet Highlights

Going way back...my first time singing harmonies in a small group was when I was cast in the barbershop quartet in a summer broadway camp for kids at Bethel College in Newton, KS in 1989. These are some of the highlights. Be nice...the show was cast on Sunday and performed the following Saturday, and we still seemed to have time for a bunch of social activities, eating and sleep. The director, Carrie Danielson, was pretty incredible (surely still is, as "Music Theater for Young People" is still going, now in KC, I think). My good friend Kari Wahlgren got me into this, and was in this show (although not seen here), playing Amaryllis. She's since become one of the most in-demand animation voice actresses around. I've since done a bunch of stuff in vocal jazz. Dan Renzi played Harold Hill, and he ended up being on The Real World: Hawaii, I think, playing the bad guy. Cara Statham, playing Marian in this show, is an accomplished music theater actress now in Dallas.
