A Mechanical Engineering Design 2 project at Cal Poly SLO. After a few rebuilds, we ended up with this beast. Climbed to the top (20 feet) in 70 seconds, which was above average. The climber could not be attached before the switch was pressed, so we propped open the clamping roller with a wedge, which was connected to the switch with fishing line. So when the switch is pressed, the prop is released and the motor starts!
