Just trying out different mics on a Taylor 414-ce and a Larrivee LV-09. Video was shot on Panasonic HMC-150. Guitar player is John Sherwood, Not me.

Not sure why the audio went out of sync on the second song. I didn't feel like re-exprting it so I left it.

I also didn't realize that I was recording just mono until I switched to the SM94's but John had already taken the LV-09 home by then, so I didn't really get to test the Larrivee in true stereo.

  • Way to make a biased video and then only screw up the Larrivee recording? What are you a troll?

  • Larrivee

  • tab / chords please anyone? :)

  • I've got a Taylor 410ce and a Larivee OMV-03R. Both are great guitars but I personally think the Taylor has better balance from treb to bass. Ovangkol is a beautifully balanced tonewood. I also prefer the Taylor neck for action and comfort. The Larri has that beautiful rosewood warmth and the quality is top shelf.

That means a lot coming from you, NOT!

Must be true coming from Joe Schmoe! Music is subjective and the sound of an instrument is a personal preference. That does not mean either instrument is better than the other. But way to be mature! And was the cursing necessary to make your point of this biased video?

"Larivee normally doesnt sound that muddy and dull, I screwed up the recording and only had one mic on it pointing at the end of the body so thats why you don't get the highs."

  • This may be the dumbest comparison ever!!! If you had not pointed out in your own words that the settings on the Larrivee recording were bogus, and then went on to add a disclaimer at the end, we would have walked away duped into thinking that Taylor was the better of the two instruments. But now we simply wonder why you bothered to post this at all.

  • Taylor's eat other guitars for breakfast
