  • Oh man, I was dyin watching this one! Midnight Express is one of my favorite movies and the way they tied it in with then-topical Midnight Special and The Who - just freakin' brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this!

  • You're very welcome! Sorry about the video: an oldie, recorded on another VCR, etc. etc.. Yes: that was an SCTV signature: tying in unrelated stuff and coming up with absurdist hilarity.

  • When I was little, I didn't get ANY of the references, but I still found it hilarous presicely BECAUSE I didn't know what was going on. I figured the cops were dragging off Randy Newman because his song was rude.

  • A LITERAL Wolfman Jack and pop stars getting beaten up by Turkish police who tik they're singing about cocaine...classic stuff.

But Dave Thomas's Randy Newman impersonation doesn't top Will Sasso's from "MAD TV".

  • @dethmetalfreek77 Well, they never got clearances on the music when the shows first aired and now before they could put them on the DVDs they had to get those. And alot of the people that hold the rights wanted big bucks before they'd allow them to use the songs and that would have made the DVDs extremely expensive cause they'd have to pass the costs along to us. I wouldn't pay $10,000 for "Stairway to Heaven"

  • they even edited out the pants song on dvd and when they showed it recently on comedy gold which sucks this is my fave season and the ones they shot in edmonton series 3 two and one are the best shame they never really got represented properly on dvd.

  • LOL.. you cant do this... im a canadian... this was a great bit

  • funny!!!!!!

  • Thanks man! I have some of these on tape but the quality has deteriorated. This stuff is priceless. I used watch these instead of Saturday Night Live until they moved to NBC. Still laugh till it hurts.
