I love my worm castings!! I have my own worm farm at home and its super easy to do once you have it established. Red wrigglers are preferred for this and boy do they reproduce! all you need is a handful of worms and some good bedding like newspaper.

@dkulikowski This applies to bell peppers definitely. Harvest depends on the vairety. I guesstimate I harvested a few weeks earlier than I normally would have. I also had stronger plants that could sustain heavier yields without support as well as outgrow early blight when it hits. That was very important to me. I did have tarps handy when planting early. Late spring frosts are very common here. Nothing says Buzzkill quite like seeing your hard work die overnight.
ps: Posting my channel is ok.

@Praxxus55712 Thank you for the QUICK response. Does all this info apply to bell peppers also? With this method you used & living in Minnesota, when did you harvest your first tomato & peppers, after you planted those HUGE plants outdoors? I am quite sure that it must have been tricky, to finally keep them outside. Did you keep something handy to quickly cover the outdoor plants, knowing that May & June can still bring frost? May I post your channel on my garden website forum?

@dkulikowski Your setup sounds perfect. The dual 300 watt output bulbs will be fantastic. Keep the light source as close to the plants as possible for maximum benefit. The souther exposure window will really help them. The night temps are excellent. Plants appreciate cooler temps at night to rest. I think you're going to do juuuuuust fine. :)

@dkulikowski Ray, I did find a couple of your videos on lighting, thank you they were good. I think I will try the 300 watt bulbs in a lamp that has 2 sockets.and place the lamp in my south facing windows. But I would still like to use the 4' grow lights in my basement and need to look for the highest wattage of tube lights. Thank you sooooo much. My room temps at night are 60, the plants are going to have to like that.During the day, depending on the sun, high of 68-70. Wi. & cold

Hi Ray, I am in Wisconsin. I would like to have HEALTHY tomatoes & peppers with flowers on by May/June. I instantly thought of you. I do use your potting mix & worm tea. I have 4' tube grow lites & south facing windows. My tomato seedings are just getting their true leaves. What lite should I use? What temp is your room? Do I NEED to use a fan? You have SO MANY videos.I will search again for the tomato/pepper/light videos. If I can grow indoor veggie plants like you, then I know I have succeeded

Oh and I don't think you tried this yet but I do hydroponic systems and I love the way the plants grow. Its like growing plants in a perfect environment indoors. :D

Oh, pro tip I learned from my friend. Standard potting soil, use a window screen to shift out the small particles and your potting soil will drain A LOT better. Add in additional fertilizer such as Osmocote and other pellet type fertilizers to supplement. Side note, the moisture control totally sucks for me. It HOLDS too much water in my pots. I refuse to use that stuff.
Don't you get fungus gnats from the miracle gro soil? Because I bought miracle gro soil and the fungus gnats destroyed every single plant I had, so I was just wondering if you had that problem.

@organicgardening987 Fungus gnats can be in any potting mix. It's all random and the luck of the draw. They sure are voracious though and a pain to deal with.
