Hope and Courage Ride Across America

Bob Mortimer begins his bike ride across America today. Nothing special you may think. Consider however that due to a tragic accident years ago, Bob lost both of his legs and one arm, is using a hand cycle powered by his remaining right arm. He plans on riding on average, 40 miles each day. He was sent off by a large group of Family and Friends, and given a police escort by the Gig Harbor police department to across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

I thought I did well riding across country at 58; Bob, you have me beat by a factor of 100. For anyone thinking of doing this, I highly recommend it. Did it in 2007, will do it again in 2011.
