First MV Freshwater in service on the Lymington - Yarmouth route in 1983 filmed in the Solent.

The MV Freshwater Leaves Lymington in February 1984 for Harry Pounds scrapyard in Portsmouth.
Sold eventually to Western Ferries and renamed MV Sound of Seil working on the Clyde.

Thanks to Ian Hulley for allowing me to upload this clip. Also thanks to Brian Bucket for loaning me his copy of the video.

  • I worked as deckhand on the Freshwater as a student in summer hols and paid for university.

    1967-1972. A great time and a great laugh. Best job I ever had and here we are now in 2012.

    Yup Captain Cudlip did manage to hit Yarmouth pier !!! Isle of Wight Pop Festival what a blast !

  • Excellent clip! Shame it was only 6 minutes! Could have carried on watching that for hours!
