John Williams plays the one piece that all guitarists agree is the most difficult within the Bach repetoire. And he does it flawlessly. The second piece from the 1992 dvd "The Seville Concert". Interestingly, although Segovia could play incredibly difficult stuff like "Chaconne", he said this Prelude would be too difficult to transcribe to guitar. Today it is standard among advanced students of the guitar. I also have a full video of Williams playing the same piece from a 1976 Australian concert.

  • I would like to add this to my "Favorites" playlist, but, unfortunately, it is marred by the advertising which accompanies it, and that makes the video unacceptable to me. Fortunately, I do have this music on a CD.

  • Sorry, but there are a few that are more difficult. The Chaconne in Dm for example.

  • @Commonwealth96 No, he is a different one

  • can you post the video of Williams playing the same piece from a 1976 Australian concert , plzzzzz

  • There are two of them- this one is the classical guitarist, and the other John Williams writes the film scores. I think the one John Williams' head would just explode if he had the talent to write Star Wars, all the film scores and play the classical guitar like a savant. He'd probably be Rain Man, and compose the score.

  • John Williams? as in, the guy who wrote music for Star Wars?

    At any rate, fantastic
