I'm trying to figure out the point of this... Is it some internet DIY competition? There are already commercial balers on the market that do this way quicker and are more practical, so I can only assume that this is something you do just to kill time?

@girochin007 Practical? I guess your right if you consider blowing 20 grand (probably more) on a commercial baler for personal use. I built this to set outside my basement door, then every couple weeks crush the full hopper until I get a bale, Aluminum recycling prices can vary from 25 cents lb. to 95 cents lb. here in Utah (no I'm not L.D.S.). Why save the environment for a quarter? The fastest well...that was more of a joke, search youtube for worlds fastest can crusher, you'll see what I mean
