Thanks for the praise & thanks for the question.
The user interface uses a 2D screen. Its designed to look like a theatre stage in 3D with the impression of depth. Like in a real theatre where the most important play is in the foreground and other plays happen in the back. Plays are collaboration sessions. You theatre directors can rotate the stage - means swipe plays between foregroud and background...

Absolutely amazing!

So does this use head-tracking for this pseudo-3D effect, or is it a real 3D screen, like the Nintendo 3DS?

We used open innovation to create the UI. This got never done before! We had 150 customers and Avaya biz partner participating. We created first 6 UI's - and postively accepted none was "wow". Then created another 3. Better but.. And then did map people's mental models of conversations. And then had people design their own UI. After all this we had a fun and easy to use UI that score 8.5 out of 10 in WOW factor.

Thanks for your comment on the interface. I need to smile: you say typically large companies don't create fun user interfaces.
The Flare project was very different then any other projects done before in the enterprise collaboration space. At the beginning we asked people to bring products to the office which they really loved: and learned that great products make people smile. And that was the design goal.

Completely faked interface. Big tech companies have been doing this (faked demos) for years.
You'll never see this actually created by guys like this.
When will this be available for ipad?????
