I didn't buy my timeshare as an investment and am willing to pay reasonable maintenance fees every year. BUT, Diamond Resorts purchased the Point at Poipu property a few years ago and have raised the fees unreasonably each year. This year, we were given 2 months notice to pay $3500! No option to pay on a payment plan - either pay it all immediately or be foreclosed on and ruin our credit! We can't sell the timeshare and we can't pay. This type of extortion should be illegal!
ARDA is NOT helping The Point at Poipu timeshare owners AT ALL! Timeshare owners pay ARDA a fee to support timeshare owners, including the Poipu owners. What does ARDA do with our money?
I'm Canadian and I just bought a Palm Desert area timeshare for $13.08! I think these are HORRIBLE investments (if you even want to use the word "investment"), but to save BIG bucks on my winter vacation that I go to Palm Springs anyways for...a no brainer for me at this distressed price!!
timeshares are like quicksand, once you step into it you can,t get out. the only help you can get is to go in deeper " upgrade". now your in even deeper but no better off. the only solution is to go in even deeper. this will drive you to an early grave. then your children will have to suffer because of these scumbags.
Did you even watch the video ? . Time share salesman never tell you this . They are trained to tell you your going to " Save money in the long run " They also try to pitch timeshares as " investments " Timeshares are the opposite because you end up spending more and almost always lose the money you put in . Timeshares benefit people who want the luxury and comfort of a second home in a resort without 100% of the hassles and expenses .
Some important facts: Timeshares aren't for saving money on vacations , nor are they investments . They offer luxury and exclusivity . If one wants to save money , rent a 100 s.f. room in a cheap motel instead of a luxurious 1,200 sf condo in a resort . Most timeshares resales can be bought for near zero because of the poor economy . Last week I spent $85 a night for a 5 star timeshare suite on the beach . Of course a cheap motel would have saved me $10 per night , but not on the beach.
So what are her Property Taxes every year on her house? DO people ever understand how expensive it is to keep up a property on the beach? Salt eates everything away. And taxes we all hate but thats life. Just a lil taste

@jasavak Wow, you sound exactly like a timeshare salesman, next time at least try to cover it up a bit. Scammers gonna scam.
