It's true what they say about geniuses/prophets not being recognized in their own country - Finbarr Furey is totally underrated in Ireland. With such a voice, he is up there for all time alongside Liam Clancy, Tommy Makem, Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew. A never-to-be-forgotten-once-hea
rd voice! Finbarr, your country's people love you!!!! -
I've heard this song a lot throughout my life and I still love it.
-
They are brilliant musicians. The instrumentals make you actually feel the wind, blowing through the town.
-
@KillieKentRadio It's 1974 when si kahn done this song
-

-

There is no band better than The fureys for putting genuine feeling in any and every song they play. This is no exception. Fantastic. Love this band.
the vatersay boys do the best version of this ever..................

@10ianpanda Sadly I have to disagree. The Vatersay Boys can't hold a candle to Finbar whether singing ballads or anything else, Their live show is what it is and doesn't lack energy but belting a song out at umpteen mph is not the only yardstick. The Boys are excellent in their own inimitable way but sober reflection should be enough for you to realise that , technically, there are many better bands than the Boys. Iain
