The final minutes of the reenactment from the German controlled side of the bridge. Pretty sad camera work, but in my own defense, I was using a digital camera held so high I could barely see the lcd and I wasn't sure where most of the action would occur at...did I mention it was raining? Only found out about the reenactment about an hour before it started, an made it there just as it started. It was well worth the trip to go see it

  • good video! I just hate it when no allies die...

  • Thanks. Yeah, it was a bit lopsided. Makes me think about the first jeep across that had a stick grenade tossed right next to it.

  • I haven't heard anything definite yet, but from the way everyone was talking, including some of the organizers...it wouldn't surprise me if they have another event next year...at least we all hope so!

  • Yeah, everyone I spoke with thought it was great.

I know I'd be back and I'd probably bring more people with me. I'm sure the local businesses loved the little boost they got from it too.

  • Nice video! I was up on top of the hill doing my best to keep those Americans at bay...

  • Thanks, I'd have been up there too if I had arrived earlier. I had just parked my car when the battle was starting. I only heard about this an hour before it started. I'm glad I went though.

Any idea if they are doing this again next year?

  • I remember last year (2010) the germans were so tired after hauling ass out of the town that most of them were sitting and resting till the americans were 10 feet away.

  • As lackadasiacal as the Germans are here, the GI's don't move tactically at all. Very bogus.

  • Too many soldaten standing around or walking around aimlessly and not seeking cover and concealment ... spoils the authenticity a bit ... esp the German medic acting as a combatant with an MP40 ... if he wanted to be a combatant he shouild not be in a medic impression.

  • BULLETPROOF AMERICANS! Thanks Band of Brothers

  • this event is happening in August(2010) around the 6th. I heard from my reenacting unit.

  • Our event is back for the 65th Anniversary of the Battle. The date is August 7th, 2010.

We hope to see you there

  • the event is back August 7th 2010, 65th Anniversary of the Bridge at Remagen

  • Oh and I like the "Welcome to Historic Tidioute" sign in the foreground, they really mean historic don't they?

  • I hope that I can make it to this event in August. I just talked to the unit that hosts this and I'm going to go see them at their training this weekend. The only problem is that I'm also a French and Indian and Rev War reenactor... and a poor college student lol

  • I was the crazy photographer with the yellow arm band...I had a lot of fun there, and from what I know there will be another event in Tidioute this year...I have been contacted by one of the organizers about using my pics for the event web site. I don't think the site is up yet, but you will probably be able to find it within a month or so....
