One of the critical components of a successful campaign for Greenpeace is a robust media relations plan. The media unit is entirely responsible for building & implementing a media relations plans for each of our campaigns & projects and to give each campaign the required media push.
A media officer in Greenpeace will be responsible for developing media strategies for our campaigns and implementing their plans, i.e. writing PRs, handling media relations, media analysis etc.
You get to be part of a small team of Media staff who play an important role of providing campaigns the necessary media push. You are not curtailed to just 1 role but get do several things in the media field, i.e. write, edit, PR, news person etc. Not to mention the immense learning opportunity -- you get to learn not just about environmental issues but also how Greenpeace uses some of the most cutting edge campaigning tools.
